Disclosure: LMS Advisor is built by the All-in-One LMS team. We score it with the same criteria as every other product on this page.

As of October 2026, Indian coaching institutes and small companies typically pay between about Rs 2,000 and Rs 30,000 a month for a hosted LMS or course app, plus 18% GST. Edmingle lists plans from Rs 7,499 to Rs 29,999 a month by monthly active learners, Graphy starts at Rs 1,999 a month billed annually plus a cut of each sale, and global platforms such as TalentLMS and iSpring Learn bill in US dollars. Enterprise platforms, and our own LMS Advisor, quote each deployment.

On our published rubric, Edmingle gives the best value for most Indian institutes because it publishes rupee prices and includes live classes, assessments and apps in its plans. LMS Advisor ranks second: it includes proctored mock tests, question banks and negative marking in every quote, but its price is not published and it has no native app or built-in checkout. Learnyst, TalentLMS and Graphy follow.

This guide is for Indian companies, coaching institutes and edtechs setting a budget. It lists real prices from vendors' own pages, explains GST and the other costs that are easy to miss, and works through examples at 50, 500 and 5,000 learners. Prices were checked in October 2026 and change often.

How we evaluated LMS pricing in India

We read each vendor's own pricing and product pages in October 2026. This is a documentation review, not a hands-on test, and no vendor paid to be included. We scored only what each vendor's pages state; if a page does not mention a feature, the score reflects that, so ask for it in a demo. Each product is scored 1 to 5 per criterion, and the weighted score is the weight multiplied by the score and divided by 5, for a maximum of 100.

Platform-by-platform pricing notes

1. Edmingle: 68/100

Edmingle's own pricing article, updated in August 2026, lists Core at Rs 7,499 a month for 500 monthly active learners, Prime at Rs 14,999 for 1,000, Power at Rs 29,999 for 2,000, and Maxx on quote. Its pricing page shows prices plus taxes, a 20% saving for annual billing and a 7-day free trial. Core includes assessments, unlimited live sessions and common Android and iOS apps; Prime adds a branded Android app and Power a branded iOS app, both on annual commitment.

Pros: rupee pricing, plans counted on active rather than registered learners, live classes in every plan. Cons: proctoring and negative marking are not listed on the pricing page, and the jump from Core to Prime doubles the price. Pricing note: because plans count monthly active learners, an institute with 5,000 enrolled students but fewer than 2,000 active in any month may fit the Power plan.

2. LMS Advisor: 64/100 (our product)

LMS Advisor, our self-hosted LMS, is quote-based: you answer a few questions, receive an estimate by email, and a written quote confirms the price. Every estimate includes native proctoring with webcam snapshots, face checks and lockdown, a separate Test Center for outside candidates, 13 question types with question banks, pools and negative marking, certificates with public verification, SSO and SCIM, and the option to self-host on PHP 8.1 or later and MySQL. Its coaching page adds batches, branches, live classes on Zoom or Google Meet with QR attendance, and phone sign-in.

Pros: the strongest exam features in this list, included rather than sold as add-ons, and a self-hosted option for data control. Cons: no published price; it is a PWA rather than a native app, so there are no Play Store or App Store listings; it is not a course-selling storefront, because checkout, coupons and instalments run through WooCommerce; and its own coaching page says it has no DRM, offline downloads, per-batch rank list or fee collection. Pricing note: AI usage, payment gateway fees, SMS or WhatsApp codes, Zoom accounts and setup services are billed separately.

3. Learnyst: 56/100

Learnyst's pricing page shows a Launcher plan at Rs 10,000 a year plus taxes and 10% of sales, then Professional at $149, Premium at $249 and Business at $799 a month plus taxes, all with 0% transaction fees, and Enterprise on quote. Test series, live classes and DRM appear from Professional; branded apps carry additional charges. Pros: built for test-prep sellers, with content protection. Cons: the same page also shows a rupee table with different plan names and prices, so get a written quote. Pricing note: confirm the currency you will be billed in.

4. TalentLMS: 56/100

TalentLMS prices in US dollars: Free for up to 5 users and 10 courses, Core from $119 a month, Grow from $229 and Pro from $449 plus $6 per additional user, with 20% off for annual billing. It bills only for unique users who log in each month, and paid plans include SSO and a custom domain. Pros: predictable costs for employee training and a free plan to test. Cons: its pricing page lists no proctoring, live classes or apps, so it suits companies more than coaching institutes. Pricing note: dollar billing adds currency and GST handling on your side.

5. Graphy: 43/100

Graphy's rupee plans are Launch at Rs 1,999 a month and Rise at Rs 9,999 a month, both billed annually, with unlimited courses and learners. Launch takes 10% per sale or Rs 10, whichever is higher, and Rise 5%. Pros: the lowest entry price here. Cons: a revenue share on every sale, the iOS app is a paid add-on on Rise, and tests are not listed on the pricing page. Pricing note: the page does not say whether prices include GST.

Other LMS prices you will see in India

  • Classplus shows Rs 1,250 a month on its create-your-own-app page and one-year plans of about Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000 on another page, so treat any figure as indicative and ask for a written quote.
  • TagMango charges Rs 5,000 a month plus GST with a 5.5% commission on Pro, up to Rs 30,000 a month with no commission on Ultimate; branded apps cost Rs 74,999 plus GST one-time.
  • Exly lists Pro at Rs 2,500 a month with a 6% commission and Premium at Rs 9,000 a month with 3%.
  • iSpring Learn bills annually in US dollars, from $6.91 per active user per month at 100 users to $3.97 at 500 users.
  • MoodleCloud bills annually in Australian dollars, from AUD 160 a year for 50 users; the rupee amount moves with the exchange rate.
  • Testpress and Teachmint do not publish paid prices; both work through demos and quotes.

GST and other costs to budget for

GST on the software. SaaS and online information services are taxed at 18% GST in India (9% central plus 9% state, or 18% IGST), and the GST rate changes that took effect on 22 September 2025 did not change this. Most vendors above quote prices plus taxes, so add 18% to compare like with like. If you are GST-registered, ask your chartered accountant how to handle input tax credit and, for foreign vendors billing in dollars, whether you must pay the GST yourself under reverse charge.

GST on your own fees. The CBIC education services flyer states that private coaching centres are not covered by the education exemption, so their services are taxed at the standard 18%. Build that into your course pricing.

Other costs that are easy to miss:

  • Revenue share and gateway fees on sales, such as Graphy's 10% on Launch or Learnyst's 10% on Launcher.
  • Branded Android and iOS apps, which often need an annual plan or a separate fee.
  • SMS or WhatsApp OTP charges for phone sign-in, billed by your provider.
  • Zoom or Google Workspace accounts for live classes.
  • Video hosting and DRM if your platform does not include them.
  • Card foreign-exchange charges on dollar-billed subscriptions.

The 5,000-learner rows show why the pricing unit matters. A plan counted on monthly active learners can cost a fraction of one counted on registered students, if your students are not all active at once. For your own numbers, estimate your LMS cost with our calculator.

How to choose and negotiate

  1. Decide what you are buying. A coaching institute needs mock tests, batches and apps; a company needs SSO, reporting and HR sync; a creator needs a storefront. Our guide to the best LMS for coaching institutes compares features in more depth.
  2. Count active learners per month and at exam peaks, because that drives most plans.
  3. Compare totals including GST and fees, not the headline monthly price.
  4. Ask for the currency and billing period in writing, especially when a page shows both rupee and dollar prices.
  5. Test with real content. Upload a full mock test, run it on a cheap Android phone and check the results reports before you pay for a year.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of LMS software in India?

As of October 2026, published plans run from about Rs 1,999 a month (Graphy Launch, billed annually, plus a share of sales) to Rs 29,999 a month (Edmingle Power), before 18% GST. Enterprise and self-hosted platforms are usually quoted per deployment.

Is GST charged on LMS subscriptions in India?

Yes. SaaS and online information services attract 18% GST, and the September 2025 rate changes did not alter that. Most vendors show prices plus taxes. Ask your chartered accountant about input tax credit and reverse charge on foreign vendors.

How much does an LMS for a coaching institute cost?

Most coaching institutes in India pay roughly Rs 7,500 to Rs 30,000 a month plus GST for a platform with live classes, tests and apps, based on Edmingle's published plans as of October 2026. Branded apps, proctoring and SMS codes can add to that, so compare full quotes.

Is there a free LMS in India?

TalentLMS has a free plan for up to 5 users, and Testpress advertises a free tier for up to 100 users. Moodle is free open-source software, but you pay for hosting and support, or for a hosted plan such as MoodleCloud.
