How the estimate works

The calculator adds typical effort ranges for the work you select and adjusts them for platform, learner volume and complexity. It is designed for budgeting and comparing options - not as a quote. Actual cost depends on detailed requirements, existing code quality, data volume and integrations, which we confirm in a short discovery call.

What usually drives LMS cost

  • Integrations - every external system adds mapping, error handling and testing.
  • Multi-tenancy - separate organizations, branding and data isolation.
  • Reporting - custom dashboards and exports beyond the platform defaults.
  • Compliance - audit trails, certification rules and security reviews.
  • Scale - performance work and load testing for large learner numbers.

Cost calculator FAQ

Is the calculator result a quote?

No. It is an indicative range for budgeting and comparing options. After a short discovery call we confirm the scope and give you a fixed price or a capped budget in writing.

Why is the range so wide?

The same feature can take very different effort depending on your existing code, data quality, integrations and how custom the workflow is. The low end assumes a clean setup close to platform defaults; the high end covers more complex situations.

What is included in the estimate?

Engineering, project management, testing, deployment and - if you choose it - the first three months of support. Third-party licences, hosting fees and paid plugins are not included.

How can I reduce the cost?

Deliver in phases, start with the features that matter most, use what the platform already does well, and keep integrations to the essentials. Choosing a flexible timeline also helps. If you need a full-featured enterprise LMS, a ready-made platform such as LMS Advisor can cost less than building from scratch.

Do I have to give my email to see the result?

No. Your estimate appears straight away. You can optionally ask an engineer to email you a detailed breakdown with assumptions, risks and a phased plan.

How much does a mobile app for an LMS cost?

An installable web app (PWA) or a branded version of an existing LMS app typically costs USD 4,000-15,000. A cross-platform iOS and Android app (Flutter or React Native) is usually USD 15,000-45,000, and fully native apps USD 30,000-80,000, plus features such as offline downloads, push notifications and in-app purchases. LMS Advisor customers can currently get a discount on its ready-made mobile app - the calculator shows the discounted price when you choose an app.

Which currency are the prices in?

US dollars (USD). If you need the proposal in another currency, just ask.
